What if the original owner recalls the wolf while she's pregnant or before the puppies ween? They've basically gotten a free studding if the pups travel with mom, which is even worse if the holder paid to breed to an outside stud. That's unfair to the holder if they wanted to keep them. I think if travellers *are* given the option to be breedable, the puppies should be held in limbo, similar to Lioden cubs with reverse breeding (I know they're separate games, just using it as an example!) And after weening they're returned to the pack that mom was in when she was bred. |

(And since the devs already have code written for it, hopefully it would be easier to implement something like that here.) |

I don't play lioden enough to really understand this suggestion. Do you mind giving me a quick run down on how it works? :) |

Pairbonds I don't think travellers should be able to be pairbonded while they have the role to make it simple. If it's done for lore and not breeding it doesn't have to actually be done - ex, a the traveller was "pairbonded" (but not actually in-game) to a wolf in the pack. Secondly I think it would be too much to ask for cross-pack pairbonding to be coded into the game, which would be what would need to happen unless pairbonds are auto-cancelled on a recall. Cross-pack pairbonding brings up a whole host of issues, like who gets to breed the wolves or disband the pairing, and is a huge undertaking for a fun forum game that could just ignore pair bonding. Also the owner being able to disband a pairbond by recalling wouldn't be fair to the host as they'd have to use amusement for their bereaved wolf to avoid them running before rollover - all because of something entirely out of their control. While it's a nice idea and would allow male travellers to breed, I think it would over complicate things and would be simpler just to block all travelling wolves from being pairbonded or being able to become a traveller if already pairbonded. Breeding - Pup Ownership For the breeding issue I think it's fair to allow it if there are some strict rules / guidelines for the ownership of pups, as well as some code put in place for recalling and running pregnant & nursing wolves. I think what would be fair is to say that if you are letting your travelling wolf breed, you are accepting that the host can breed them to anyone at any time and that the pups will stay with them after weaning. I get that some owners might want to try and keep one of the travellers pups, but his should be treated as if they're buying any wolf from that user since they're the one that used their resources to breed the pup. It should be discouraged for owners to send funds to hosts to have wolves bred as it complicates this system - if the owner wants to breed the traveller to a specific wolf, they can recall them before they go into heat and breed them themself / reset their status to not be breedable until they want to breed them. Breeding - Recalling / Running Pregnant or Nursing Wolves In cases where a travelling wolf is pregnant or nursing, I don't think the user should be able to recall until the pups have weaned. If the traveller runs due to low food or mood:
Misc Misc Mechanic suggestions I couldn't fit in anywhere else:
Wow there were a lot of comment's while I was writing that! ._." I'm curious about how the reverse breeding works in Lioden since it sounds like a simple solution to a lot of the potential breeding problems |

While this might not delay art content like bases, mutations, nesting pose, etc. it's fair to assume it could delay updates that also require coding. Updates we know coming that require coding are skill trees, the karma system, new mino games, in depth relationship/personality expansion, enclave expansion, clan/guild expansion and more |
