About the Packs
- The main pack is called the Skippingstone Pack for their somewhat undignified hobby of fetching humans' skipping stones... In actuality, their alpha fishes for wishes and sings to the ghosts in their mountain river. Also called the "Ghostface Pack" by adolescent humans, not so much for the alpha's passing resemblance to the movie villain, but for just being kind of spooky...
- Neighbors with the aggressive Tarwater Pack (swamp) and the friendlier, but ironically more dangerous due to their human sympathies, Longtails Pack (prairie).
- The wind gods, Kire and Kjrn, do not multiply as mortals do. At the end of each of their divine seasons, they come together in brief and electric ecstasy, then disperse in ripples throughout the land to wake anew. It is their fate to find one another again across the many miles and misplaced memories between. They have but two natural children, Rivercut and Honeywell, granted before they became immortal.
About the Lands
- Largest mountains in the range are called Mt. Molar and the Dogtooth, skirted by a forest called the Wickswood. Which is mostly wood, but sometimes waxen and sometime-roost to eerie, stretching birdthings...
- Tarwater Swamp is made resentful with struck oil and a truly ill advised mine, long ago abandoned and occasionally aflame. Shadows still cast themselves long here, and can overtake their hosts.
- Prairie and grasslands include the Longtails, a range of pale grass which turns sharp and musically bony in winter. Sometimes, there are words on its winds.
- Between the glacier and the tundra lies Strangeridge, a liminal place for liminal beings.
