Mountain Snow Pack

The Mountain Snow Pack is a very outgoing, gentle pack, having established themselves in the high elevations of the mountains. They were founded by Terra (Current leading wolf) and Arctic (current breeding male).

Territory

The Mountain Snow Pack makes their main camp in the higher caves of the mountains, and their territory extends quite far below into the foothills and valley below. They don't normally hunt in the higher elevations due to the treacherous terrain, preferring to instead descend the mountains and hunt through the pine forests, the lakes, and the valleys. Their part of the mountains has a unique cave system running through it, ones that they chose to make their home. The caverns are filled with strange plants and unusual sights, and many wolves consider it to be a direct link to the Lunar World.

Pack Hierarchy

The pack's hierarchy is rigid and structured, to keep the wolves in some semblance of order. The leading wolf and breeding male are at the top of the pack, with hunters and patrollers coming directly after them. Scouts come below the hunters, herbalists after scouts, with the pupsitters and pups nearer to the bottom. However, pups, pupsitters, and pregnant wolves always get the first share of prey brought back from the hunts without question.

Wolves within the pack often pay careful attention to the stars, with quite a few of them having unusual connections to the stars and the Lunar Realm without explanation. The majority of the wolves have such a gift, and those with the strongest ability to interpret the signs or see into the other realms are usually more respected than those with a less powerful seeing ability. Every wolf has a faint trace of this kind of sight, with the leader's family having the strongest. Terra named this ability Moonseeing, and the entire pack has some level of Moonsight.

Assigning Roles Within the Pack

Wolves are assessed at a young age to test their stats, and depending on what they are they'll be assigned roles as such. Scout wolves simply need to be agile and fast, while for hunters it depends more on the stats. Pupsitters are assigned their roles based on their ability to interact well with pups, and herbalists are required to be smart and wise to fulfill their roles.

The Leader and Lunar Dreams

In the Mountain Snow Pack, the leaders always have a very close connection to the Dreamlands. Once the lead wolf has proven they have a very strong connection to the Dreamlands (ie, having visited the Dreamlands every night for one rollover) a special necklace will appear around their neck, signifying their connection and properly naming them leader. Overtime, if the wolf in question visits the Dreamlands every night of every dream season onward, they may develop some Cnitharian wolf traits, such as jellyfish-like fins or tentacles that show themselves in the waking world.
