Marius is an incredibly kind, somewhat aloof wolf. The wolves of Leonharts regard him as a sign that the current state of Leonharts pleases the spirit of the former leader, who was seen as more fox than wolf himself.

He is confident in his abilities, and very charismatic. Those who are new to the pack often wonder how such a jovial wolf could come from Angela.

Some in the pack would prefer him to be the leader, instead of his mother, but he has expressed his comfort in his current role in the pack many times over. He doesn't view himself as much of a leader, and would much prefer to do other things, while his mother thrives in the role she has accepted. He sees no reason why it should be any other way.
