Slate was befriended by Pack Leader Vixen and brought into the Nightglow Pack. A skilled hunter, she fell into the role easily alongside Pine, and later Hazel. At some point, she acquired a Scottish Fold cat that accompanies her as her companion.
Slate became pregnant by the pack breeding male, Sunshine, and had 3 pups with him. Once, when Slate came back from a hunt, she didn't feel well. She went to Dusty the herbalist who diagnosed her with influenza and got to work making a cure. The cure was rapidly made and Slate was soon back in action.
After the creation of a new hunting party, Pine was transferred to join Journey. Slate found herself missing her. Pine went to her and confessed her love, and Slate reciprocated. They happily became mates and adopted a pup together from the enclave.
