Mavis gazed at Jewel as she moved with a sad expression, reluctantly watching as she approached the door to her home. Seeing the tear escape her eyes, her self control escaped her and she lunged forward, wrapping her in a hug. "Thank you." She mumbled, giving her figure a gentle squeeze before finally releasing her.

Jewel hugged her back gently before biting her lip " May our friendship continue to go, Mavis."

And with that she opened the door and walked outside into the afternoon  sun. She walked a ways before looking back and waved a goodbye before turning back and shifted into her cheetah form and ran towards the West, the only safe place she could be.

"I'm always here for when you need help." Mavis called when she turned away, waving at Jewel from the door frame. Soon, her lithe form disappeared leaving her to stare at where she was for a few moments before sighing and returning to her home. Closing the door behind her, she glances around as the absence of her house guest begins to settle in.

Jewel ran to the mountainside and stayed there for as long as she needed to to make sure that her ex boyfriend wouldnt hunt her down. " I really need to find someone who isnt like him at all" Jewel thought. But would she ever find one? Prolly not.

Weeks pass and Jewel still hadnt visited Mavis. But it was Spring so, Jewel should be wanting to come visit Mavis now, right? Well.. maybe. She was in the middle of hunting when Jewel came upon Mavis's little cabin.

 Its worth the shot and see whats been going on she thought in her head. She padded her slime cheetah body to the door and whined before scratching at the base of the door.

Mavis tired to return to her previous life, the routine she had before the shifter had entered her life although she found it rather hard. It felt odd now to be alone like she once, resorting to inviting her family over whenever she could convince them to however it still didn't hit her quite how she needed.

For the first few weeks, she'd spend the better half of her afternoons sitting on her small porch, waiting to see if she could catch Jewel when she stopped to visit- if she stopped to visit-. Eventually the more logical part of her mind took over her actions, reminding herself that she may never actually return. She noted how a boy from her town, Kaleb, seemed to grow agitated as Jewel left and gradually mellowed out, managing to make the connection that he had been her previous partner.

Mavis had been sulking under her covers when Jewel stopped by, trying to ignore how empty her home seemed to be sitting upright in her bed, glancing in the direction of her front door. Hearing nails scratching against wood following the whine, she sprung sloppily to her feet and darted to the door. "Jewel..?" She started, falling to her knees in front of her and began to look over her form.

The feline whined  im fine... Mavis. really. She had filled in from eating so much. She nuzzled Mavis gently after being gone for so long.  Im sorry for leaving like that... I just... needed to get back to live on my own again.. and away from my ex. I hope he hasnt come back since I was gone... she said looking into Mavis's gentle eyes.

She was able to finally come on after the expection and sat on the kitchen floor, bored, but safe once again. 

A small smile came to Mavis's lips at the nuzzle, giving the back of Jewel's head a gentle scratch in return. "I'm just glad you're back.." She shook her head softly, sighing in relief at her unscathed form. With a small huff, she pushed herself off the wooden floor and let her insides. "Do you need anything, Jewel?" She offered as she watched her sit.

"I'm glad you're doing well, you had me worrying for a bit there. You're looking a lot better now." Mavis laughed her words off, stretching out her tense spine. She sat in a nearby chair as she gazed at her with a soft smile, giving her some space. "You can take a shower of you'd like, I'm sure you weren't exactly living in the life of luxury while you were away. At least my place is better than roughing it." She spoke, still a bit surprised that Jewel returned and seemed completely fine.

But was she fine? Not exactly. She hated hiding the secret from Mavis. But she had to for the time being. Jewel took a short nap before waking up and yawning, her sharp canines showing.. She went into the bedroom and shifted into human form before taking Mavis's advise and took a long warm shower. She got out of the shower an hour later. fully relaxed and with a smile on her face. 

She found Mavis where she left her and sat down in front of her. A hand on her stomach.
