"No.. you really shouldn't.. People around here are respectful enough, they shouldn't come any closer." Mavis mumbled a bit timidly, nibbling on her lip when she noticed how close Jewel was to the window. "Wait, don't look out the window- If someone sees a cheetah in my house, they're definitely going to come here."

Jewel walked away from the window " I can shift you know" She said realizing her mistake in hiding her identity " Shit.. forget what I just said"

 She then walked past her to the bedroom and snuggled in "what is she gonna think of me now?" she whined

Mavis simply blinked a few times as Jewel walked away, slowly processing what she said in her still tense state. Did she say 'shift'? As in what Mavis herself could do? The idea brought an odd sense of comfort to her, relieved that she wasn't in fact going insane and Jewel wasn't actually a feral animal that might attack her for no apparent reason.

Once she managed to collect her thoughts, she started back down the tiny hall to find Jewel, staying a respectful distance from her. "Did you say shift? As in you can turn into a human?" She questioned, tone curious and hopeful.

"Yes.. yes I did say 'shift' Mavis. But I rarely shift into human form anyways. So dont get your hopes up when you do see me in human form" she eyed Mavis with her light brown eyes but  stayed on the bed. " I like being in this form anyways. It makes me for comfortable and I can defend myself better. Being human got me into a lot of trouble. "

Mavis nodded, a pleased smile over taking her features. "That's okay, you don't have to anything that makes you uncomfortable. I'm just kind of happy to meet another shifter. You're the only other shifter I've know, besides my mother of course." She explained, gradually growing more relaxed the longer she distracted herself from the shot. "I didn't think I'd actually get to meet anyone else."

" I never shift anymore because of what I went through years ago" Jewel said with a  hard sigh of her shoulders " it went terribly and I never want it to happen again"

Nodding slowly, Mavis offered a sympathetic look to her house guest. "Well, I know it won't mean much, but I can promise that you'll be safe in my house, no matter your form." She couldn't help but be somewhat curious at the explanation, though she made sure to not be disrespectful and pry into the private manner.

" thanks, Mavis" Jewel said " I do wanna try and shift back though..." she said after awhile " Just.. dont freak out.."

She got off the bed and went into the bathroom and was in there for what seemed like forever

"I won't." Mavis reassured, glancing as she left her room. She made her over to the bed, sitting on it as she waited for something to happen. A familiar silence filled her house as she sunk into the soft materials that coated her bed, toying with the hem of her shirt. Gradually as time passed, she began to wonder if something had happened in the small bathroom.

Jewel slowly peep her head out of the bathroom " Mavis.. you there still" she asked holding onto the door as bests he could. She had a short sleep shirt and shorts on from the last time she was human...
