"Oh, yeah, of course." Mavis answered, pulling herself away from the stove to open the door. Grabbing a small back, she placed it in front of the door, successfully stopping it from closing more than half way.

"Here, I'll leave the door open and come to get you once I'm finished. Stay safe." She hummed, turning back to her task at hand.

Jewel purred before leaving the cabin " I wont be long I just need the fresh air" and with that, she trotted off into the surroundings. She hoped the hunters where nowhere in sight because she would kill them if they were around.

Mavis smiled to herself as she continued to tend to the cooking meat, preparing a small salad for the side. She was willing to trust Jewel enough to believe she wouldn't run off randomly with her injured leg. Although she was beginning to notice how fidgety she was growing, restraining from shifting. Brushing it off, she carefully plated the hot food and called for the feline no more than five minutes after she left. "Jewel, food's ready. Come and get it if you want it hot."

Jewel snarled " but I just... ugh.. fine.. im coming" 

She limped back to the cabin and immediately smelled the food " you really know how to make me hungry.. dont you, Mavis?" she teased

A hint of pride bubbled up in Mavis at the comment, laughing sweetly at the feline. Taking a plate, she knelt down to place it on the ground; a pair of lamb chops positioned in the middle.

"At least that's a good thing in this case. I made a salad too, but I didn't know if you'd eat it, being a cheetah and all." She says as she makes her way back to the counter to get her own plate, glancing back at Jewel.

" Im a meat eater, Mavis" Jewels aid getting rid of the bone and  taking a small chunk of meat into her jaws and sat down  trying to enjoy the food. It wasnt what she was used to, but it would do for the time being til she was able to go back to hunting deer and rabbit.

"I thought so, I just thought it would be nice to offer." Mavis sighed, seating herself at the small table and beginning to eat. She slowly picked away at the meat, eating tiny portions compared to the amounts of the salad she consumed. She ate rather quietly, sparing a glance at Jewel to see her reaction to her cooking.

" I dont usually eat like this, Mavis " Jewel Teased " no offense on your cooking. I like it.. its just different. Not wild caught of course. But it will do for the time being"

she finally finished the meat and carefully grabbed the plate and put it on the counter after stretching her lean bodied legs on the countertop. Then looked back at her.

A gun could be heard a few feet past the cabin and Jewel pinned her ears back " Oh dear"

"I'll make sure to leave your's raw next ti-" Mavis started with a chuckle, cutting herself off at the sound of a bullet firing rather close to her small cabin. A shaky exhale left her as she glanced back at the door, fidgeting uncomfortably in her seat.

"It's okay.." She repeated quietly to herself until she managed to calm ever so slightly, taking heavy breaths as she distracted herself by taking care of the dishes.
